OUR MINI NYC (RE)TREAT YOURSELF WILL INCLUDE: 

ENERGIZING MORNING YOGA

Certified yoga teacher Cayla Merrill will lead you through an energizing morning sequence that can be easily incorporated into anyone's jam-packed schedule. Cayla is a strong proponent that yoga is for everyone and any time. Learn simple variations to help bring movement to your desk, commute, or Netflix binge.  

PICNIC LUNCH PROVIDED

We will take a break to refuel mindfully while continuing to get to know each other. 

MOVING MEDITATION / MINDFULNESS WALK

This half hour will show you what your daily lunch break could look like. Leslie Jay, a licensed mental health counselor, will provide tips to stay mindful as you independently walk through the park. A quick walk outside allows fresh air to reset your frantic mind, and moving your body will increase your blood flow and leave you energized so you feel fresh and focused all day long. 

RELAXING AFTERNOON YOGA

Cayla will lead you through a 15 minute grounding yoga practice that is perfect to squeeze in right before bedtime. Sleep is absolutely crucial to balancing a tight schedule and a gentle yoga flow just before bedtime lets us unplug and unwind which allows a deeper more restful sleep.

BEGINNER'S MEDITATION

We know, meditation. That thing where you have to sit down and think about absolutely nothing for hours on end until you reach nirvana. Wrong! In this beginner's meditation, Cayla and Leslie will guide you through a digestible meditation that will dispel your concerns and preconceptions to help you find some peace of mind. It can be done anywhere, anytime and will work wonders on your stress levels.   

GRATITUDE

Another critical part of finding balance and combating the stress of everything that is wrong is reflecting on all of the wonderful things that are going right. There is always a silver lining, even if you have to squint. Cayla and Leslie will share their insights on what a gratitude practice is and how to maintain it. 

 

Retreats will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants. We hope that through the connection and intimacy of these workshops we can provide a community for like-minded individuals. Attend one or all three!

Cayla and Leslie are both well aware of the struggles and challenges that come from living in New York City, having full time careers, relationships, hobbies, and friends and feeling like their cup was always empty when it was time to give to themselves. Through their own independent therapy and self-help journeys they have found beneficial tools to add to their Sustainable Self-Help Toolkit in an effort to find better balance in their lives. Through the (Awe)some Amazing Living Podcast and Retreats, Cayla and Leslie hope to impart some of their learned wisdom on to you to help you stress less and gain and maintain some peace of mind.
