Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider which means that you might be eligible for partial reimbursement through your insurance.
I am happy to provide documentation for our sessions (called a superbill) that you submit to your insurance. (Please note that insurance requires a mental health diagnosis code for reimbursement.) Reimbursement rates vary by plan and not all insurance plans allow for out-of-network providers. Please check with your insurance directly with any questions.
What are the session fees?
$125 for a 50 minute session.
How often do we meet?
My clients see the most results when they put time and consistency into the process. This means weekly sessions are recommended, but not necessary. As we begin therapy, I ask that you commit to weekly appointments for the first 2 months as we get to know each other and find our groove. We can talk about dropping down from there.
Where are sessions held?
I meet clients in my Astoria office, from the comfort of their home if we're meeting online, or in one of our city's beautiful parks (generally Astoria Park or Central Park).
What's your training in?
You can read more about me and my approach here, but here's the nitty gritty for those who are interested. I'm a licensed mental health counselor (NYS #005755) specializing in mindfulness-based therapies. I have specialized training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Yoga for trauma, Mindfulness-Based Stress-Reduction, and Compassion Fatigue.
Do you offer sliding scale appointments?
I have limited availability for sliding scale appointments based on financial need. These appointments are only available for movement-based walking sessions and require a weekly commitment. Feel free to contact me to talk more about sliding scale availability and policies.
